June, 2006 Update:
Relocated from out West (got promoted and transferred) to Washington, D.C. accompanied with my Ranger Buddy Lenny. We've been
together for six years this April. He's of Canadian ancestry and gives me unconditional love. We love going hiking together
and we’ll miss the Rocky Mountains (Yes, I miss the lower cost of living from Out West but I honestly enjoy DC). He
even brought me my promotion rank.
When someone says that "You Can't Buy Love" never had a pet or more specifically a dog. I adopted him six years ago from Dreampower
Animal Rescue.
Love My Dog and Then Love Me. You have to pass the doggie test. But then again he IS a Newfie black lab and I've yet to meet
a Labrador which doesn't effuse happiness and enthusiasm.
L** (my dog) and I went to Doggie Happy Hour which is conducted every Tuesday and Thursday from 1700-2000. See www.doggiehappyhour.com
Bought a house in suburban DC which is situated on 1/3 acre.
Plan on starting to attend the Smithson Young Benefactors event in April.
Single and Looking. Went to The Army Ball (231st), June, 2006. Dress Blues and all.
Fall, 2005
Hiked Pikes Peak for second time. All 14,110 feet.
L** brings me my promotion rank.
Summer, 2005
Name published on promotion list (1st pass) I like to Aim High (being an Eagle Scout at 14). I'm my harshest critic but
I've learned to stop and smell the roses. Well you can't help but smell the flowers when your Newfie is peeing an entire gallon
of water (or at least it seems that way ).
Spring, 2005
Completed my Profession of Arms education (in order to get promoted)
July, 2005 Updates:
Cooked Thanksgiving Dinner 2004. See the above link titled "TG2004" I've really become quite a good cook.
My arm has healed after my August, 2002 wrestling injury (got pins removed September, 2004).
My Ranger Buddy--my Newfie Black Lab--has gone from 118 to 130 pounds. All of it still DOGGIE L O V E!
June, 2004: Went to President Reagan's State Funeral with my (older) Super Sister. She was the nation's first woman mine
foreman, would have been the second woman on the space shuttle (but then Challenger blew up). Albeit undeniably aggressively
assertive about her opinions, she's not only my sister but my best friend. She is a Class A act with panache and grace. Even
though we're on opposite ends of the political spectrum she was like a Marine trooper as we stood in line for five hours to
bid farewell to our beloved President.
I will always remember Ronald Reagan. Attending a Catholic liberal arts college in the Midwest, those with liberal political
viewpoints chastised us. It compelled those of us in ROTC as well as College Republicans to examine our political viewpoints
and to become articulate apologists. I'm proud to Be an American, to serve my country in uniform and to call myself a Ronald
Reagan Republican.
I know that there will be those of you reading this whom will disagree with me. I truly relish and enjoy LISTENING to
opposing viewpoints which is one primary reason why I have always loved Washington, D.C. Just as in sports--where you compete
with an opponent on the wrestling mats or boxing ring--one RESPECTS one's opponent. And the same is true of me of any and
all viewpoints. The Four Freedoms as articulated by President Franklin Roosevelt:
http://www.americanrhetoric.com/speeches/fdrthefourfreedoms.htm
1) Freedom of speech and expression--everywhere in the world.
2) Freedom of every person to worship God in his own way everywhere in the world.
3) Freedom from want, which, translated into world terms, means economic understandings which will secure to every nation
a healthy peacetime life for its inhabitants--everywhere in the world.
4) Freedom from fear, which, translated into world terms, means a world-wide reduction of armaments to such a point and
in such a thorough fashion that no nation will be in a position to commit an act of physical aggression against any neighbor
-- anywhere in the world.
Always looking competitive, aggressive (albeit safe and sane because I need to remain deployable) wrestling or boxing
matches.
Hello, Dear Friend/"Comrade in Arms": Have a great celebration. I'm 36 yo, military guy now living in suburban
DC. I'm 6'2", 175#, blond hair, blue eyes, swimmer/runner build, great abs. I lift weights regularly 4x a week, enjoy
cycling (Rode the Rockies), running (Army Ten-Miler twice). I was training for the 2001 race but as we all know current events
canceled it (have great stamina ), sky diving (have my Class B license), white water rafting, wrestling and boxing. I enjoy
amateur, collegiate, freestyle and submission styles. I'm training for the 2002 Military Inter-service Wrestling Tournament.
D O G S And if I didn't say it, I LOVE dogs. and have a wonderful Newfound black lab--last count he weighed a whopping 111
pounds (correction that was four years ago or so. He now weighs 125 lbs). And I'll be honest--HE takes me for my Army two-mile
run in the morning. He's absolute L O V E and he's my Ranger buddy.
I'm a career professional and single, available and looking for friendships first and then a LTR. I believe that fruitful
LTRs are like a plant which requires sunlight, watering and attentive care.
What I'm Looking For : I REALLY am ALWAYS looking to expand my circle of friends. Quality before quantity. I surround
myself with positive, professional, tactful, discreet persons. The traits that my circle of friends all share (and which I
value) are: character, strong moral value system, professional, athletic and in shape, and personally possessing ambition
and self confidence, have focus about themselves and life. I'm not into high maintenance relationships. I know that seems
pretty demanding and selective. However, one has to know one's strengths and limitations (and NEVER be too *(&*&(
proud to ask for assistance to Accomplish The Mission). I don't succumb to societal expectations (i.e., marriage) for the
sake of marriage. I think that a Long Term Relationship is the greatest impact any one individual makes on another person's
life and that it's common, simple courtesy not to treat (any) relationship(s) flippantly. I Love to Travel and travel frequently
to San Diego, Los Angeles (love Redondo Beach and Venice Beach) as well as Washington, DC. Learned how to surf when I took
a military hop to Hawaii for Christmas 2000.
Instant Messenger Contacts: I'm also on both AOL's AIM and MS Messenger.
